Body Helix is proud to announce company founder, Fred Robinson, 66, was inducted into the 2020 North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame over the weekend.

The North Carolina Tennis Foundation held the induction ceremony at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club to honor those, who through the excellence of their activities in and connection with North Carolina Tennis, have brought substantial recognition and esteem to themselves and to the State.

Body Helix FounderRobinson, of Charlotte, NC, is a 76-time World and U.S. medalist tennis champion. He is also a U.S. National Grand Slam title holder in both singles and doubles and is an eight-time Atlanta Senior Invitational Pro Tournament Singles Champion. He has been ranked No.1 in the United States in senior tennis in both singles and doubles multiple times throughout his career.

In addition, he was recognized as Player of the Year in the Men’s Open in North Carolina and Florida and is an eight-time undefeated champion in the ITF World Team Competition. He also holds an ITF World Champion title in both Austria and South Africa.
During his 30-year career, Robinson has received many distinctions such as two-time winner of the USTA Southern Slew Hester Player of the Year Award, winner of the National Gil Roberts Sportsmanship Award, the National Armistead Neely Sportsmanship Award, and the Best Senior Tournament of the Year Award.

Body Helix Founder“I am honored to be inducted into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame,” said Robinson.I have spent the last four decades studying, practicing and competing in the sport of tennis. To receive a recognition like this is the ultimate reward for playing a sport that I love.”
Robinson’s success isn’t limited to the tennis court, though. For over eleven years, he has been dedicated to helping athletes of all ages and levels continue to do the activities they love, but with less pain.

In 2008, at the age of 55, Robinson founded the Body Helix compression sleeve company because he observed that compression gear designed for pain originating from muscles and joints had minimal effect, was uncomfortable, and was decades behind the advances of fabric science. This motivated him to search for a material that would not only function for pain management, but would also stay in place and not restrict his range of motion. His passion for creating high-quality, eco-friendly compression products is demonstrated through his continuous efforts in product research, development, and design.
