Product Recommendations: Shakes and Hydration

 

Training hard requires you to replenish what your body has lost.  Protein shakes and hydration supplements are a necessity when you train as much as I do.  Typically, I will use something for at least a month before it ever qualifies to be tournament-worthy.  I never (ever) try anything new around tournaments.  When I finish with an event, that’s when I will come home and experiment.  This includes both what I put in my body and what I put on my body. 

You can bet that I will test anything from shakes and supplements to  shoes, tennis strings, and clothes.  The willingness to experiment is how we evolve and improve ourselves and has always been a big part of my regime.  I am definitely a “tester and a learner.”  Read on to see some of my favorite protein shakes and hydration supplements. 

 

PROTEIN SHAKES:

Protein is essential for refueling your muscles after exercise.  When you are training hard, you need to help your body recover.  The shakes below are my go-to after a hard workout.

Tera’s Whey

After a strenuous workout, a shake is always enjoyable.  Tera’s whey is a certified organic whey protein and one of my favorites.

Maximum Vibrance

This product is part of a longtime morning shake routine for me.  I know for many that a cup of coffee  in the morning is a must.  My suggestion would be to read through the ingredients of this product and then ask yourself the following question…. What does coffee bring to my health that Maximum Vibrance doesn’t?  Case closed!

 

HYDRATION:

These are three drinks that I use while hydrating during match play.  I like all three and vary their use.  You can try them and see what works best for your body.  I think drinking water is good for 30-45 minutes, but if you are going beyond that, then these make great sense.
