Absolutely had a blast with this paddle! The insane grit helped me to learn how to put spin on the ball. And, the oversized paddle face with a sweet spot that covers almost the entire face, assured that I could learn my strokes with ease. JIN

FLIK Plus Pickleball Paddle Review
Introduction
This is my review of the FLIK Plus Pickleball Paddle, the second “FLIK” paddle from Body Helix. Unlike the Gen 3 FLIK paddle, Body Helix has decided not to seek USAPA approval for the FLIK Plus. One reason for this is that the paddle exceeds the grit level allowed for certification, which significantly affects play by allowing for incredible spin on shots.
Specifications
• Core Thickness: 14mm X-Core black soft (A thinner core means more power)
• Paddle Size: 17 x 8”
• Handle Length: 5.8”
• Handle Circumference: 4.25”
• Surface: 2 layers of Toray Carbon surface + 1 Layer of Fiberglass (A fiberglass layer also provides more power)
• Construction: Cold Press
Paddle Technology
• Core: PP honeycomb
• Surface: 2 layers of T700 raw Toray carbon and 1 layer of fiberglass
• Design: Oversized for a bigger sweet spot
• Grit: Extreme
• Handle: Solid state
Cold Press Technology
In the era of thermoforming, cold press technology stands out. So, what is cold press technology? A "cold press" pickleball paddle is made by pressing together the different layers of the paddle (typically a composite face, a polymer core, and another composite face) at room temperature, without significant heat. This method ensures consistent performance through a simple layering process. Cold press paddles offer a blend of power, control, and touch, making them a popular choice among players.
Performance
The FLIK Plus paddle performs similarly to many traditional paddles. The cold press technology slightly reduces power, but the fiberglass layers and thinner core compensate for this. The wide body construction results in a larger sweet spot, providing consistency and minimizing off-center shots.
I found the paddle to be sufficiently powerful with excellent control on dinks and drop shots. The spin capability is outstanding, and although it took a few tries to control, I could spin the ball a few feet away from my opponent.
While Body Helix suggests this paddle is perfect for beginners, I believe it is best suited for players below the intermediate level (3.5). The consistency and power are ideal for players at this level.
Conclusion
The FLIK Plus Pickleball Paddle by Body Helix is a well-crafted paddle offering a great combination of power, control, and exceptional spin. Its cold press construction and additional fiberglass layers make it a standout choice for players looking to enhance their game.
